Charles Andrew Fowler was my Great Grandfather. Charles was born in Mahoning County, Ohio. His parents were C.A. Fowler and Sarah Caldwell. He father was born in Pennsylvania to the best of my knowledge and his mother was born in Ohio. Charles married twice. His first wife was Emma A. Swayze. They had seven children: Bertha, Besse, Laura Belle, Jesse, Charles, William and Lewis. Emma died on 26 Jan 1900 at the young age of 39 years and 4 months--ten days after the birth of Lewis.
Charles later married Lema Emrith Bagley in Paulding County, Ohio on 2 Oct 1900. She was the daughter of William Russia Bagley (3 Nov 1857-29 Mar 1941) and Susan Jane Hoon (29 Sep 1854-6 Jan 1899). Charles and Lema lived in Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio. Charles worked at the Hopple Handle Factory for seven years prior to his death on 20 Jun 1911 from typhoid pneumonia.

Sarah was born in Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio. She married Matthew Jackshaw. They had two children: Betty June and Doris Ann.

Charles' death in 1911 left Lema to support three children on her own. Lema put her three children in the Ebenezer Orphan Home at Flat Rock, Ohio on 3 Jun 1912. They all remained in the orphanage until 1918 when they were released to their mother. Lema remarried to Fredrick Frisch and died 6 Feb 1920 from tuberculosis. Lema was laid to rest at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio.
