Warren Stevens (10 Jul 1848-8 Apr 1940) was my Great, Great Grandfather. He was the son of Moses Stevens (29 Sep 1806-11 Mar 1869) and Henrietta Ogg (11 Dec 1820-21 Jan 1900). On 31 Dec 1871 he married Mary Elizabeth Shellhouse (30 Jul 1853-15 Feb 1931). Mary Elizabeth was the daughter of Edward Shellhouse (Apr 1805-3 Mar 1873) and Mary Willis (Sep 1813-3 Jan 1884). Warren and Mary Elizabeth resided in Tymochtee Township, Wyandot County, Ohio. They were laid to rest at the Richie Cemetery at Crawford, Ohio. Their daughter Nora Stevens was my Great Grandmother.

Clarence and Roscoe contracted diphtheria from a doctor who previously treated a diphtheria patient. The doctor passed the disease to the two boys when visiting the Stevens' home. Both boys died in Jan 1891 within seven days of each other.
